had recently broke my arm and was given percocet 5-325. Had to have a plate and pins put in to stop movement and afterwards was prescribed lortab 5-325. Why is the lortabs not taking the pain away like the percocet did and whats the differnce between hydrocodone and oxycodone. Will either one of these meds give me really loose stool and upset stomach have been experiancing both since i started taking them

both medications are opioid-derivative pain medications..however, it would take 7.5 mg of hyrocodone to equal the same pain relieving effect as a 5mg,percocet. Personally, hydrocodone is a medication I've never had any success with and I've heard the same from many others. If the Vicodin (hydrocone) isn't helping, I'd notify your doctor and explain to him that you had better luck taking the Percocet. I currently take 10/325 percocet and I'd be worried to switch because sometimes I have breakthrough pain even w/the Percocet. Good luck :)
