Tramadol, Ultram, same thing really... but, for herniated disk, something with continuous pain, Ultram ER (Extended Release) would make more sense, and it's my understanding as well, that it works a bit better vs. the regular variety. I don't take the ER, and may ask my doc to switch me over for my Fibromyalgia. Good luck!!
