As a Law Enforcement Officer, I am randomly tested at work. I have been prescribed Tizanidine HCL 4mgs, with instructions to take 1/2 to 2 tablets at bedtime. This medication was prescribed to me for the muscle, joint, and RA pain associated with my SLE Lupus. I am in the midst of the worst flare up since being diagnosed several years ago. I have made it very clear that I am never to be prescribed any type of narcotics- under any circumstances. I will just deal with the pain. I was assured- this medication would be fine. IS IT? I AM NOW CONCERNED???

Hello,
As long as you have your doctor´s prescrition with you or any proof that you were prescreibed this medication by a doctor you should be fine.
Do let them know before hand that you are taking this medication under doctor´s order.-
You as an officer know you are not breaking the law you need this med for your pain. You are not abusing it in any way so there is no foul play.-
This medicayion is a non narcotic one it is a skeletal muscle relaxant.-
You have my full respect and admiration for what you do.-
