Hello. thanks for responding!! I am wondering what your pain was like after detoxing from pain meds. I got on pain meds for pain in my back--and it is thoracic pain, which isn't the most common pain! I am scared of what the pain will be like when I am FINALLY off the super strong pain-killers(Opana ER now reduced to almost 25 mg). Would you tell me what your experience has been and what has helped with the pain? I appreciate it so much.

Hey need.help,
This is really hard to say because we don't know what is wrong with your back. Maybe you can investigate other means of pain control for this problem while you finish tapering from the Opana. Have you tried physical therapy or massage to help? Have you tried other types of pain medicine besides narcotics? Just some thoughts. Wish I could give you a straight answer but each of us is different.
Best wishes,
Laurie

Don't mean to bust you're bubble BUT IT SUCKS!!! you can't sleep, the anxiety is horrible. So in my case in my very very bad pain I took the the only thing I could do to contol the pain it '& went on the black market & found Morphine & self medicated. But I can't live like this so I'm trying to stockpile enough to say goodbye cruel world.
Buddy,
I wake with paralyzing pain--from the detox withdrawals my body is in when I wake from being without the Opana for the night. It scares me so badly that I could hardly shake it off today. There are two people in my life that love me, and would never get over it if I ended my life. There is a reason you have told me this. And, I am fighting my own demons--I have been to dark, dark places with this--and the anxiety I have known this couple months doesn't come close to anything I have ever experienced. It could drive me out of my mind.
I have to get my little girl to bed... I will continue this later. Hold on.

I just want to say that there are other meds including the ones I am trying that are starting to help already--savella and Lyrica (both are indicated in pain). Lyrica can be bumped up by a doctor that is in the know -- up to 600 mg/day. This doctor here in Suwanee, GA understands, and he puts people in pain on these, Suboxone and Methadone (both of these are also indicated in pain too; He has success with these), and the narcotic medication seems totally indicated in your pain plus an anti-depressant/anti-anxiety medication. There are possibilities. A good chance of finding someone similar to this doctor is looking up who is certified to give Suboxone (or Methadone). These options may make all the difference. Would you be willing to try one of these doctors? This program here is incredibly affordable--seeing the doctor, the therapist and group counseling is like $250 for the whole month.
