Both drugs work in different ways.
Nexium decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach. It belongs to a group of drugs called proton pump inhibitors.Nexium is used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions involving excessive stomach acid such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It is also used to promote healing of erosive esophagitis (damage to your esophagus caused by stomach acid).
Hyoscyamine produces many effects in the body, including relief from muscle spasms and reducing the fluid secretions of many organs including the stomach. It is often used to treat stomach cramps and excess stomach acid.
