Anyone had bad side effects from Celexa for Depression/anxiety?
Even better, can anyone compare it to their experiences on lexapro (okay, but made me too sleepy) or wellbutrin (bad experience)?

Celexa is a good medication for depression. It's not going to take away life's problems for you, but hopefully it will help you in the way you perceive things and handle them. You might need an additional prescription fir your anxiety (there are many). I take Celexa myself--no problems and coupled with my other "head" drugs: Effexor, Depakote, and Clonazepam I don't get as angry as I once did with people. I'm one of those guys who loves people on a one on one basis, but believe and understand (according to the Bible) "that the human heart is wicked above all things, who can comprehend it." So generally people irritate me. Anyway, the anger and discontent has been brought to a minimum thanks to these drugs. Really. So give it a shot, if it doesn't work for you, switch to something else. What else are ya gonna do depr-anxsufferer24? God Bless you and may He become aware of you're problem and give you an affirmation that He is aware and there for you. God Bless you and take care of yourself. By the way the drug Lexapro is Celexa with an anti-anxiety added to it. A lot of people can't tolerate Lexapro for some reason and go back to Celexa or some other SSRI. We have to (for the lack of a better phrase) play around with prescription drugs to find out what's best for us, because we're all different, but it's worth it because we're living in an insane world and some of us, usually the brightest, need a little something to help them cope with the insanity. The Truth is this world is insane. That's not a new realization to those who think and have a Spiritual understanding of what's really going on in this world and this age.

I have been on Citalopram (generic for Celexa) for a 8 months now. At first, i experienced nausea, but only if i was overeating. I tend to do that at night. I would wake up around 4 am sick as a dog and the only thing that made me feel better was to induce vomiting. That lasted for the first two months, and i thought: "Great! Maybe i can retrain my brain to stop overeating and finally loose some weght!" The nausea was that bad, but subsided after two months and the overeating started all over again. Dang! I also find that if i don't take it on time (12 pm) i get a headache. Taking it at that time helped me feel sleepy around nine and in the bed by 10 pm. Didn't do much for my depression, so my doctor just added Bupropion HcL (generic for Wellbutrin). Waitng to see effects. Good luck hope this helps
I've been on Celexa-(Citalopram) for the past 2 months. I never experienced any side effects w/this drug. The only side effect that I have encountered would be failrly recent when my Dr.. upped my dose from 20mg to 40mg approx. 3 1/2 weeks ago. That would be fatigue. I have played around with the time that I take this med. Currently I have been taking it around 7/8:00 p.m. although, I still experience fatigue midday. As this seems to be the only side effect that I am forced to experience, I will learn to deal with it as opposed to experiencing the debilitating effects that depression brings! Best of luck to all-
