What should I expect at a Suboxone clinic?

I also work with people who have addiction problems. While longterm use of buprenorphine can cause dependency as can taking too high of a dose there is nothing factual that shows buprenorphine is addictive when used properly. Drs are usually to blame for misuse of buprenorphine as lots of drs don't know how to prescribe it. They get certified and that is where it stops for too many of them. Most all scheduled medications come with that same dependency warning as buprenorphine. Can't stop prescribing every medication that can be abused.

There are no perfect recovery methods or more people would stay clean. The Waismann Method is terribly expensive and the relapse rate is high. There is a lot more to staying clean than getting clean in a few hours. There is much more to recovery than a rapid detox. I never suggest purging the substances from our system in a few hours. If it works for someone that is great. But I don't think it's proper for someone who is a recovery professional to bad mouth something like suboxone when so many people have used it and are continuing to use it succesfully on this forum. I would hate to think that my post caused a patient to decide against detoxing with suboxone because they read my post where I said it was addicting and that they wouldn't be able to get off it. It's possible that suboxone might have saved that person's life.

Your right... the doctors do not tell you how addictive it is... they dont know what they are doing. Many are in it for the money as my doc is. Thank GOD for this site and I found out soon (I hope soon enough) that 40 mg is unfounded and dangerous. I have been thru rehab three times in my life. Alot of good they did for me. Allowed me to suffer so in wd, calling me a piece of sh* contantantly untill I cried and agreed, tearing me down to the soul just to "rebuild" me. Calling me a liar constantly, all in 30 days. Then set me out in the real world and telling me what to do for a living, where to live and continue to control my life. And all for a mere 4-500$ a day, and that was 20 yrs ago. OH, no insurance.. well your have to pay up front if you want to live, or srry but your insurance will only pay for 2 weeks here, do you have any more money, sell you car if you want to live. You sure would sell it for a fix. Look at what u will do for that. "Look around you, 80% of you will not make it." So, I made the 30 days, now you have after care (for a fee of couse) We will continue to do urine screens at your cost. If I have a slip, thats it your out of after care, cut loose, your a looser. The last time I went to a thirty day program I swore to myself I would rather die first. SO, now you say lets just jolt your body into being clean over a few hours. For get allowing your brain time to heal. For a measely 6,000 bucks, then maybe your insurance will pay for inhouse rehab. IF not... go to na or aa. Let me tell you your chances are slim that you will make it. YOu have a better chance if you have 30 days to allow u time to recover.. how much would u spend on the dope.. if you want to live you will pay for it. Well Nicole... thank you for your support on the sub... I hope u never have to walk my shoes. I can not really print what I want to say so I will stop here.

Is the Weismann method the one where they put you to sleep and detox you will under anesthesia? Oh brother, if that is it my honest opinion is that I think it has to be the worst plan I've ever heard of. Aside from my last post where I mentioned a friend who came close to death, I wouldh ave to say that an opiate addiction can not be cleared in less than a day. And if sub is addictive or even just psychologically addictive, so what? Most people are taking sub because the drug they were using is WAY MORE addictive. If used right, sub is not addictive and even if used for a longer term, you can wean off very very slowly. I personally would not recommend the "go to sleep come out cured" method to anyone.

Hey, I am still waiting for that to kick in. My appetite unfortunately has not decreased. Is this a common side effect of the suboxone? And sleep totally escapes me. been on Ambien for about 3 years. It has not been working recently. was not sure if it was the oxycontin or now the sub. I eventually get to sleep but I don't think the Ambien has anything to do with it. My primary told me to stop the ambien and try an ativan 1mg. That was a joke! I tried benedryl but it made my heart race. Thought maybe I would try tylenol PM or maybe just ask to switch to a new sleeper like Lunesta. Any hints? Like I don't have enough going on just starting the suboxone. Fortunately i do not work so it does not matter too much. I just sleep later inthe morning, but I really love to sleep and cannot lately!

Great Bev... I am glad to hear the subutex has made a difference. TJe anxiety going away is really great... and soon you will be tranplanted..I am glad you wll go with a calm soul.

well, you came to the right place...good luck with your induction. JUst be sure your in enough wd to start... the sub saved my life.
