Tacrine is used in the treatment of mild to moderate dementia of Alzheimer type.
The FDA has approved Tacrine as a safe and effective therapy for dementia.
The manufacturers do not guarantee it will help a certain percentage of sufferers but studies have shown it to be an effective treatment in responsive individuals.
