Unfortunately alopecia (hair loss) is one of the possible side effects of taking Plaquenil. see http://www.drugs.com/sfx/plaquenil-side-effects.html

A diet rich in omega 3 fatty acids, iron and vitamin B-12 is said to be good for healthy hair (deficiencies can contribute to hair loss). It is unknown whether supplements would make any difference.
