I have also problems in concentration, learning and memorising.
I was told that L-theanine could be used in such cases. Please, share your experience. This will help me to improve my health. Thanks in advance.

Hey Inko,
L-theanine may help relieve stress by inducing a relaxing effect without drowsiness and may also possess immunologic attributes. Theanine may also have effects on the cardiovascular system and play a preventative role in cancer; however, limited clinical information is available to support these claims.
I must say that I have not used it so I can not vouch for its effects. It is considered safe by the FDA so it won't hurt if used in moderation. Give it a try and keep us posted,
Laurie

Hi check out this website http://www.web-us.com it has a lot of information about L-theanine. I don't know if it is similar L-tyrosine because it has very similar actions. I have used the latter and taken for a long period it was very affective. It is great that it is a natural product also!

A neuropharmacologist prescribed both L-Theanine and L-Tyrosine to me as sleep aids, mainly because they are natural products without toxicity. I have sleep apnea and severe daytime droswsiness, and therefore need all the help with sleep I can get.
I also have many drug sensitivities, particularly to polyethylene glycol. Unfortunately, I was prescribed both Zolpidem, the generic form of Ambien (those short activing form) and Ambien-CR (the extended release form) and both of these products contain polyethylene glycol to which I am very allergic.
I have also used the natural herbs Holy Basil, Valerian, Relora, Rhodiola, Melatonin, Calcium & Magnesium in a 2:1 ratio, (listed in order of their effectiveness for me) that can be found in many health food stores, and sometimes Whole Foods grocery stores.

Yes, I was experiencing a great deal of anxiety over my job and several sleepless nights. I researched L-theanine extensively and thought I'd give it a try. I purchased two supplements... Lemon Balm (also known as Melissa) and L-Theanine. I took one Lemon Balm in the morning with one 200mg L-Theanine and was amazed with the difference in my mood that day. I found myself feeling more relaxed and positive within an hour of taking the supplements. I continued to have an elevated and relaxed mood throughout the day. I was amazed. I have continued to take L-theanine and find it to be just as effective if not better for anxiety than the Alprazalom I was taking. I would highly recommend both of these supplements for anxiety and stress reduction. As for sleep I did not notice a great improvement, but am hoping that as my stress level drops my anxiety will also diminish and my sleep will improve.
