what is a normal dosage of ativan? 8mg? or would 8mg put me out?

"normal", anxiety-fighting doses of Ativan range from .25 to 2mg, depending on the person and their benzo tolorance. 1mg of Ativan is roughly equilivant of 10mg valium, so your assumed dose would be a massive dose for a non-benzo-tolorant person. don't just assume your doses of drugs, it's a good way to end up in the ER (or the morgue).

I have been on ativan for over 10 years-My Dr. now has me on 2Mg 3x's per day and I found out if I don't have it I have terrible withdrawal within 24 hours--really need to get off this stuff before it kills me--or getting off of it may kill me it sounds like --I am very worried

If youa have used ativan before or built up a tolerance to it, it will be lights out for you. I currently take 3mg at night and feel groggy in the morning. However, I can't stop taking them or I will be up all night for days.
