Angina like chest pain is a known side effect of Xeloda, but I don't know what the doctor's do about it. Your doctor will have to find out what needs to be done in these circumstances.

since I know little about this drug and from what I have read Marvell is right but please discuss the effects of the chest pain that you are having with him anytime chest pain comes into play you need to talk with the doctor if for no ther reason than he is aware of it and that you also have the factor of feeling safe, when in doubt (no matter if the book tells me this is all right or not if in doubt check it out and your doctor has knowledge concerning you and among other things I want you to be the best that you can possibly be and that includes being safei I wish you only the very best outcome

Thanks Marvell. After a fortnight with no treatment in which a persistent dry cough developed, and now a month on an asthma inhaler and cortisone, the angina has more or less disappeared The cough persists but is slowly improving. A new cancer treatment is set for a month's time, but will have to wait until Xeloda side effects have all gone.
Oh that's great ... so they will be putting you on new medication. Wishing you all the very best.
