What is the proper course of treatment or protocol when switching from methadone to suboxone?

welcome happyperson, if your under your drs care with this taper, he/she should know what they are doing, and if they dont, it might be better to find a pain management dr that is knowlegable and works with patients that go thru it. because a dr who has no knowlege of taper, opiate dependant or withdrawls can be very judgemental, cold and not understanding. for your sake, try and find another dr for this matter. or a sub dr in your area. punch it in google sub drs in your area and a list should come up. hang in there

I switched from methadone to subutex. First i had to reduce from 300ml, to 30ml, Then i had to go 72hrs without methadone and took my first subutex, then i tapered to 0.4. Iam now drug free. But you have to find a doc who deals with substance dependance. They will sort a taper suited to you, as. everybody is different, it takes time and sub gets your life on track, hope this helps.
