Hello thumper. Phenobarbatal is a very powerfull barbiturate. To answeer your question, it would vary, the dose, to how often the seizures were occuring, and for how long. I could say 100mg, but again thats just a number, a high one, and I'm not a doctor or chemist/pharmacist but it certainly would again, depend on the individual person.best wishes to you,

Just to add this, I'd absolutely not exceed 400mg. That would be in any given day, 24 hour period of time.
