What is the difference between the 36 hour cialis and the daily cialis?

My understanding is that the 24hr one doesn't work nearly as well as the 36 hour version. This is info according to my doc. He said that the 24 hour version releases too little of the drug, and has had many more patients respond much better to the 36 hour one. Beyond that, I'm not very clear as to why this is.
