Everyone I have ever talked to says they are the same thing.. but if that is true, why is one 3x more expensive than the other? I've never taken either so I don't know.. but something doesn't add up.

oxycodone is the active ingredient in percocet...the reason that oxycontin is so much more expensive is the amount of milligrams, most percs are 5mg or 7.5mg(there are 10mg too). oxycontin comes in 10,20,40,80,160mg...so depending on the size the price goes up accordingly. they are the same narcotic, qty determines price or if you meant roxicodone...thats the same too, but I usually hear about the 30mg one, which would explain the 3x the price you mentioned
