Yes you can take both of those medications safely together. As far as the differences between the two. Nexium is used for GERD, Esophagitis erosion, H. Pylori Infxn, Hypersecretory conditions, Gastric Ulcer risk reduction associated with NSAID use and many other things. As for the Metoclopramide, that's used for GERD, Diabetic Gastroparesis, nausea/vomiting prevention (Chemo Releated), Nausea/vomiting prevention, Postop, Small bowel intubation, Radiological Exams etc.. So they both do the same things but also they do different things so they most likely are being used correctly by your doctor, If you concerned feel free to tell you doctor about your concerns.
