What is the difference between ambian cr and zolpidem tartrate tabs?

Zolpidem tartrate is the generic form of Ambien.

Ambien CR is a controlled release Zolpidem Tartrate where as generic Zolpidem Tartrate isn't a controlled release and only help you get to sleep not stay asleep like the Ambien CR does. Hope this helps. Good luck to you!
