What is the difference between 60 mg kadian and 60 mg morphine sulfate?

Kadian is a sustained release morphine while morphine sulfate is quick release. The morphine sulfate will last 3-4 hours if you're lucky. The kadian is supposed to be a once a day pill... Dave

Yep! The Kadian, 60mg, would be equal to your Morphine Sulfate, 30mg BID (twice a day)..I think the Kadian would work better b/c I know w/Morphine Sulfate, I also have to take medication for breakthrough pain.
