At the moment, your only option is the branded Flomax (tamsulosin).
The patent for Flomax is due to expire in October 2009, which will allow the manufacture of generics. Some of the generic manufacturers have already been granted tentative approval for their products by the FDA so it shouldn't be too long until you have a cheaper alternative available.

I have BPH and take Tamsulosin 0.4mg daily and have been for over 2 years? How long should I take this? When I go off, the symptoms come back.

I have been taking Tamsulosin 0.4 mg for about 13 days. I am trying to lessen the amount of times I urinate everyday, especially at night.
