I just finished Chantix in the last month or so. You just stop. There is no weening off Chantix. When you start taking it you step up from 0.5 mgs to 1 mg after the first week. You do not step back down your last week of pills. There isn't an end pack as far as I know and if there is, someone made a mistake at the pharmacy lol. You just stop taking them. Whether you take them for the full twelve weeks or decide you don’t need them after 6, you just stop. Someone from the Chantix hotline said that it takes about a week to be out of your system completely. Hope that helps. 4 months smoke free today!

I know this Q and A was posted along time ago but I have my 2cents... I have been taking Chantix for almost 4weeks. I have cut down from 1 pack a day to about less than (on average) 1 cig every 2 days. I missed my last two days' pills, purposely, because I have become very constipated (I know it sounds funny but it's extremely uncomfortable). This morning, after not taking my pill for the last two days, I found myself set off by not being able to fit into my work pants. I was so angry this morning for several hours that I surprised myself! I am a very level-headed, nothing-gets-me-going kind of person, I don't do drugs, I don't take any medications, and I don't have any physical or mental health issues. It surprised me so much that I had to psych myself out of my funk. Luckily, I am the only person in my office.

LOL I was so surprised by my 'funk' this morning that I came home from work early, ate something, smoked a cigarrette (my fourth one today) and immediately took my Chatix pill. I think I may need to wean myself off these pills. I love taking them because they keep me from smoking but MAN! today was a day!! I just needed to share that... Regards!
