My mom has small cell lung cancer and is always in pain... We have yet to find something that works for her. She takes percocet 10/325 daily..the doctor tried ms contin as a breakthrough med..also kadian..then fentanyl patches..none of the above seem to be helping her.
What is the best pain med. for treating cancer?

Percocet and ms contin are crap for this kind of pain. Cancer pain is one of the worst pains we can endure. Fentanyl patches alone with fentanyl lollipops for break thru pain are usually the best. Heroin is actually the best pain med for cancer but unless you live in Europe the doctors are to scared to use it due to it's unjustified stigma. Ask the doctor about using the Duragesic Patch (fentanyl) and the fast acting Actiq (fentanyl sucker)... Good luck

Yes certernaly ask the Dr for Aciq suckers They are made for cancer pt you can start at a low dose and move up stronger when needed
