What if I used milk of magnesia every day for the last 4 years?

I take care of an older sick friend and he uses alot of milk of magnesia and he did have a high magnesium count in his blood. The doctor did not say anything in particular about it, but, your body will get used to the laxative and then the bowels won't move without it. You should tell your doctor and see what he/she says.
