Hi ur8mate. I knew a friend of mine, several years ago, and she was taking sam-e. I never had heard about it untill she told me about it. I think that she was on exactly what your dr. is suggesting. The cymbalta withdrawl, I went through it last year, but my main beef was agitation. My first two weeks, my irritibilty was high. Best of wishes,

Thanks for your feedback. Cymbalta withdrawl was the worse thing I went through, as far as feeling ill, in my life! Most awful!
ur8mate, if you could, let us know how the sam-e works out for you. I'd be interested to hear. thanks, all the best to you.
I am also very interested in the product Sam-e. I am hoping to stop using prescription drugs, as they have so many horrid side effects.! Any one know any thing positive or negative about this more natural product? My therapist, suggested it and she said , always go slowly first. And honestly I found after going through many( drugs & experts? ) for many years it took the third therapist, to find a breakthrough from my P.T.S.D. I think I am close to stopping the Liberex & Welbutrin.
I really fear those kinds of drugs, On Two different occasions , ordered by two different doctors, they had me walking into wallls. I am hoping to step down ,from the RX to more natural methods of coping with P.T.S.D.
Hello there questing. I read your above comments. I can understand what and why you prefer to get away from your current meds. Question if its ok with you. Why not simply ask one of your drs. what they thing about sam-e? Maybe they do know something about it and might be willing to say, yup, lets see what happens. Thats just me talking my thoughts out loud. Or am I reading it wrong, that your therapist did at one time suggest that you try the sam-e? I actually see my dr. next week. I'll simply ask him right out what, or if he has anything positive or negative to say about sam-e. Actually, I hope ur8mate does come back to the site with full of good news. That would be the cats meow so to speak. Well, best wishes to us one and all,
Thanks, ever so, for your input. Yes, My doctor has commented that the sam-e was not strong enough for my problem, she gave me seriquil which made me so sick I could not function. this is one of the two doctors that overdosed me with those psychotropic drugs. When I was mobile once again, I went to a new doctor and told them, Once before many years ago, I had taken Wellbutrin with little side effects & it is helpful, but I still get a little headache, so I would love to just stop using those dangerious drugs. It's six years sense Katrina, And I am getting better, with the help of my therapist.
Ur8mate, I came off Celexa a few months ago. Tried St Johns Wort which is just ok. Starting Sam-e in acouple of weeks to hopefully relieve my depression along with my lower back pain. Please let me know how this works for you. G.
