Hi I was an alcoholic for 20 years been sober for 8.
Although alcohol is actually a drug rather than a food, its interaction with, when consumed while taking certain medications, can be extremely dangerous. It is a good rule to avoid consuming alcohol while taking any drug unless your doc or pharmacist indicates that the combination is acceptable.
