I am due to have my period in a few days, but am going on vacation for my birthday with my bf the 13th, and want to defer my period until after the trip. i just got ortho tri-cyclen lo today. what would happen if i start it tonight with a few days until my period is due?

Sorry this question wasn't answered earlier... If you start your pill early you will need to wait seven days until you have full contraceptive cover... if you started your pills on day 1 of your period you would have full contraceptive cover straight away.
If you start your pill before your period is due you are likely to have breakthrough bleeding.
