CNS means Central Nervous System and Respiratory Depression means breathing either slowed down or at risk of stopping. The CNS helps keep you breathing. Most opiates, like hydrocodone, benzos, like xana, and muscle relaxers like soma must carry this warning. If you combine any of these meds, the risk of slowed breathing of respiratory failure increases. Alcohol can cause respiratory depression or failure as well, especially if it is combine with another med that produces the same effect.
