What are the side effects of taking chloroquine - can it make someone lose a pregnancy?

Chloroquine is the drug of choice for the prophylaxis (prevention) and treatment of sensitive malaria species during pregnancy. It is has not been shown to cause fetal harm. Chloroquine should only be given during pregnancy when need has been clearly established.
