What are the side effects for benicar HCT 20 mg. tablets?

The most common Benicar HCT side effects include:

Dizziness
Upper respiratory tract infections, such as the flu or common cold
Increased uric acid levels in the blood
Nausea

Other side effects, occurring in more than 1 percent of people, include but are not limited to:

Spinning sensation (vertigo)
Heartburn or indigestion (dyspepsia)
Diarrhea
High blood sugar (hyperglycemia)
Arthritis
Muscle pain (myalgia)
High cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia)
High triglycerides (hypertriglyceridemia).

Serious Side Effects, if you experience any of these contact your Doctor ASAP

Unexplained blisters or peeling of the skin
Itching
Unexplained swelling of the head or neck (including the face, lips, tongue, or throat)
Wheezing
Difficulty breathing or swallowing
Dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting spells

Dry mouth
Increased thirst
Weakness
Tiredness
Restlessness
Seizures
Confusion
Muscle pain or cramps
Nausea or vomiting
Weak or irregular heartbeat.

Rare Side Effects of Benicar HCT
Some of these rare reactions include but are not limited to:

Pancreatitis (inflamed pancreas)
Anemia
Kidney failure
Blurred vision
Hair loss (see Benicar and Hair Loss)
Serious breakdown of muscle (known medically as rhabdomyolysis).
