The biggest benefits of HRT is that it may successfully treat symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, mood swings, sleep disorders, and decreased sexual desire.
Other benefits include:
Osteoporosis. Studies show that hormone therapy can prevent the bone loss that occurs after menopause, which decreases the risk of osteoporosis-related hip fractures.
Colorectal cancer. Studies show that hormone therapy can decrease the risk of colorectal cancer.
Heart disease. Some data suggest that estrogen can decrease risk of heart disease when taken early in your postmenopausal years. A randomized, controlled clinical trial — the Kronos Early Estrogen Prevention Study (KEEPS) — exploring estrogen use and heart disease in younger postmenopausal women is under way, but it won't be completed for several years.

I have read that estratest is good for osteoporsis as I have osteopenia and so I hope that will help me in the long run. I am very small boned which would make canidate for osteoporsis. I had really thought about getting off estrastes all together so I will just stay on them for the time being. I do go to a fittness center 3 times a week and exercise and walk. I am trying to do everything I can to prevent osteoporsis.
