for high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes and he has no appetite and losing weight ridiculously! He is currently taking diovan 320, glimepiride 2mg(1/2), lisinopril 40mg, indapamide 2.5mg simvastatin 40mg and metoprolol er 50mg
What are some medications that will increse appetite? My Dad is taking several meds?

He's drinking the Ensure but I'm not sure if he's drinking 3 a day! He has no appetite, so he's not eating much... says he tries cause he knows he needs to but feels full! I'll look into the blood test... thanks.
Make sure it is the "glucerna" as that is for diabetes.
Does he have other medical problems you have not mentioned? Blood disorders, Cancer or anything like this? I think your dad knows more than he is telling you. If he denies that something is wrong. You need to go to the doctor with him. Go back into the exam room.The whole 50 yards.

There is a precription medication called Megace that helps increase apptite. Ask his doctor about it. It may not fir with his medical comdition but it wouldn't hurt to ask

I had thought of that... he does have a wife and she is also concerned about him but I don't think she accompanies him in the exam room! I'll try that!
I found out today that he is on the megace... had that in bottle in another place.
