My husband passed away and had a chemical that broke down as morphine and he was not taking morphine.

I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your husband! My heart goes out to you!Codeine breaks down into morphine so if he was taking Tylenol #3 or taking a cough syrup with codeine this could show up as morphine. another possibility is the consumption of poppy seeds in things like muffins, cookies, poppy seed salad dressing. Poppy seeds have shown up as traces of morphine after ingesting them.
