Mood swings, severe hot flashes (5-7) day, Night sweats (4-5), loss of concentration, felt like I had ADHD, sugar cravings, loss of libido, insomnia, sudden fits of anger or crying, all major symptoms of menopause except it was much worse after the loading dose of vagifem than before I had started using estrace.
Wow, I see what you mean. It sounds as though your body very quickly (with in 2 weeks) got use to the daily estrogen and then when it was reduced your body overreacted with severe symptoms.
Hormones are very potent chemicals and your body is obviously particularly sensitive to changes in hormone levels.
Hopefully once your doctor has the correct estrogen dosage you will begin to feel alot better. This can take some time.
Al the best.
Thanks Suzanne66. I had tried using a progesterone cream--ProGest-- BEFORE gyn insisted on RXing the vagifem, and it worked very nicely, but he didn't want me on it as I had hysterectomy over a year ago. Still have ovaries. Things are MUCH better now but not as good as with the progestrone cream. My next concern will be what happens when the time comes to go off the estro gel. Yikes! I know, one day at a time!
