When is Vytorin expected to have a generic equivalent?
28 Nov 2013
April 2017 is the earliest predictable date that a generic version of the medication could become available.
Besides simvastatin, several types of statins are available that could also be considered substitutes for Vytorin. These include:
1.-Atorvastatin (Lipitor) or combination medications that contain atorvastatin (Caduet, Liptruzet)
2.-Fluvastatin (Lescol, Lescol XL)
3.-Lovastatin (Altoprev, Mevacor) or combination medications that contain lovastatin (Advicor).
