... a prescription vitamin d supplement once a week to get my levels up. I had a heart attack a year ago and am on Plavix 75mg. Lipitor 40mg. Ecotrin 81mg. and Valium 10mg 2X a day. Will the vitamin d supplements work well with these medications. Also I have read that I should take D2 and D3 supplements. Any suggestions on that?

I understand many doctors are checking their patients vit. D at the present time. I too had a low vit. D results. My Oncologist said with low vit. D you can lead you to a higher risk of osteoporosis, depression, heart disease and stroke, cancer, diabetes, parathyroid problems, and immune function. So that is the reason why I take it. I believe if I was you I would talk to your Pharmacy as they know your medical profile.
With a reading like yours I would really be happy my doctor cared enough to check my Vit. D.

Even though there are plenty of insufficiency signs of vitamin D in males, let's know more of the most vital insufficiency signs or symptoms of vitamin D before we move forward.
Higher Blood pressure levels is usually the most critical sign of all. A number of research has shown that reduced levels of Vitamin D result in blood pressure that face men. It's also found out that the percentage of strokes is actually more frequent normally during the winter months, when there may be an insufficient exposure to the sun's rays. Take into account that you must come out for some sun light daily, giving virtually no value to the period.
