I have congenital Ptosis (a droopy eyelid from birth) and at 20 years of age I have now used visine for one year to open the eye , making it appear normal like my other eye. Only Visine "Workplace" and the "Original Red Eye Relief" Visine work to open the eye. The competing brands products and Visine's "Natural Tear" and "Dry Eye Relief" eye drops have no affect on the drooping eyelid. I have investigated using these other products because they they do not cause damage to the eye by constricting the blood vessels and relieving redness, as redness is not my concern. What ingredient is it that is opening up my eye, and is it avaiable in an eye drop that does not relieve redness or harm the eye with long term use? Thankyou.

No idea sorry. I would have thought that it might be due to the decongestant in it, but if other brand eye drops don't have that effect then it might be some other ingredient. It'll be hard to identify what is helping your condition. You could call the manufacturer and ask then about all the ingredients present in it and then compare it with other products, to see what ingredients they don't have.
