My dear I am hypothyroid and I take victoza and metaformin or glucophage (1500mg) and I have lost weight. I am taking the thyroxin for my thyroid and lost a little bit of weight before I take victoza and metformin, and it was driving me crazy!
But first of all, please make sure that you are taking the right dose for your thyroid and not less... it took me a while for me to know the right dose along with my doctor
Then when you're sure about that, start victoza and metaformin.
The first 3 days of victoza I was throwing up all the time, but then everything got smooth and fine.
That also doesn't mean that you don't exercise. Muscles in very important for us hypo's to keep our metabolism functioning as much as possible.
3 times a week to the gym for 1 hour, plus victoza and metaformin and the right dose of thyroxin... take my word you'll be perfect!

You know, I missed the "I'm not diabetic" sentence. I'm really at a loss as to why he would order victoza for you. Part of the way victoza works is to slow down your digestive tract. You lose weight when its moving too fast, like with diarrhea. I would want to know why you gained that amount of weight so fast. I suspect another doctor would be in order for you.
