- vibramycin, infections, sinusitis, doxycycline
I have always been given vibramycin for my sinus infections but the last twice I have been given doxycycline and it has returned 3 days after the 8 day course. But usually I can be 6-7 months between flare ups.

Yes doxcycline will work to clear the sinus infection. You might ask the doc why he/she is prescribing dox instead of vibramycin, tell them what is going on and he/she should explain why the choice was made.

Vibramycin is Doxycyline Hyclate. They are the same drug. I think this is a good example of why not to rely on non-professionals to answer questions about drugs. Call a pharmacist.
