Viagra - How long have these been around and if the exp date was 04 or 05, would they still work?

Viagra or any other med would not be as effective after the expiry date, could be toxic too.

It is recommended not to use expired meds, please destroy the pills. Take care.

Of course Rajive is correct. But I have used very old Viagra without incident due to its large co-pay. If it is no longer effective, the failure is not life threatening. If a stale drug causes extra side effects, Viagra's are not serious in my opinion. The famous 4 hour erection might even be worth the trip to the ER.
