I am using a prescribed (topical) Verapamil gel for Peyronie's Diease. I was also told by the urologist to take (orally) 1000mg of calcium and 100mg of zinc daily with the verapamil gel. Since verapamil is a calcium channel blocker, doesn't this contradict itself? Am I not trying to get rid of the plaque buildup on the penis, not add to it?

Yes, taking calcium can counteract the effects of Verapamil. Please speak to your doctor about it. He/She may have a valid reason for prescribing calcium.
