Friend is on a diurectic and wanted to know if this med contains one as well, he's having frequent urination throughout the night.

No, valsartan does not contain a diuretic. Valsartan is in a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Valsartan keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow.
