Technically Orfiril contains valproic acid and Epilim contains Sodium Valproate. Valproic acid (Orfiril) dissociates to the valproate ion in the gastrointestinal tract, so its effects are virtually identical to valproate (Epilim).
If your epilepsy is well controlled it is not a good idea to switch brands unless it is necessary.
There are risks in changing brands (more seizures and side effects) but these risks are not fully known. For some patients the effects of changing from one type to another are very small.
You should discuss these risks with your doctor.
