Ursodiol, High Biliruben, given this for treatment can you answer some questions?

My specialist put me on the Ursodiol for a similar reason and it made me have orange diarrhea as a side effect but it brought levels down to almost normal in about 3 weeks of it. Those numbers are a little high but this drug may take care of it. I would give it about 3-4 weeks and you should see some change in the way you feel. I also took this drug 2x per day at 300mg each capsule, you should take it with breakfast and supper if you can, it will bother you less if you take it with meals. As far as your headache goes I would try Aleve, take two tablets in the morning with breakfast and two tablets at supper time also, that should start to control the headaches in about 2 days after it has gotten into your system. Give it some time and these 2 pills should work for you soon. The Ursodiol helps with Bile build-up as well as Bilirubin levels, but you need to give it some time like I said about 3 weeks or so, the Aleve will kick in sooner of course.

You may want to try some Benadryl or get a prescription for Vistaril. I personally preferred the Vistaril because I have a severe reaction to Benadryl where it makes me EXTREMELY hyperactive where I could literally stay up and keep going for 5 days, that was no fun. The Vistaril is usually pretty good for the itching problem and will probably help you relax too. The Aleve will help with the headaches and backaches, but I would suggest taking it on a regular basis until you get your numbers down then try to cut it to one tablet twice a day and then stop it if you are feeling o.k. enough. I would not suggest taking any Tylenol if your liver is off some because Tylenol is not good for the liver anyway and could make it worse, by the sounds of things you don't need that.
