Call the doctors office and see if they cultured your specimen or simply looked for white cells in it. There are 4 major germs that cause UTI's and 3 of them are best treated by one drug and the 4th one needs something else. I suffered like you did one time taking the wrong antibiotic and had to go and leave another specimen and get that cultured and the doctors office actually apologized for only looking for signs of infection instead of culturing it.
