I just found out today that my physician is requiring me to take a drug test tomorrow in order to get my prescription for oxycodone. I have been taking suboxone on and off for the last 4 1/2 months when I run out of my scrip. This is the first time he has required me to take a drug test and I want to know if the suboxone will show up in the test. I need to pass this test to get oxycodone for my chronic back pain. Any answers would greatly be appreciated!!

It will only show up positive for bupenorphine, if this dr is a pain management dr or if he writes subs himself, he likely will check for bupenorphine. it won't test positive for opiate. You do know you won't be able to get relief from your roxy for 3 to 5 days after taking subs because it blocks opiates right. yotj may be able to get relief a bit sooner, depending on whether you are on less than 8mgs subs per day, if you are taking more, your roxy is probably gonna take a few days to work. subs can test pos. for bupe for up to 2 weeks after last dose.

I just had my first urine test today at my suboxone dr and it came back positive for both percocet and methadone! I was shocked and immediately asked for a script or a lab test. The test at the office was a quick screen that gave the results within minutes. I am praying that the lab test doesn't come back with the same result.
Dear Declan, how long has it been since your last dose of opiate. A person can test positive for opiate for up to 8 days after the last dose, since you a new to suboxone, I am not sure what is going on, but that might have been what happened. The only other person I have heard of having a positive result for opiate was a girl who was on phenergan, not even sure why tht happened, but it was a normal daily med for her. Good for you for asking for a second test, as subs doesn't usually test positive for opiate, only bupenorphine. Please please update us. Patti
