Hi judybest
Tramadol is a centrally acting opioid analgesic, used in treating moderate to moderately severe pain.
Fully synthetic opioids: fentanyl, pethidine, methadone, tramadol and dextropropoxyphene.
It will remain in your system 2 to 3 days.-
If you have a prescription from your Dr. please take it with you and let them know before they do the test.-
Best of luck.-
Andres
Tramadol is NOT an opiate. it is a synthetic opiate. Which is the reason it is not a controlled substance.
It IS an Opioid (synthetic) Analgesic, just as masso said. It also can cause feelings of euphoria, making it addictive. I've been a member of this site since '09 and have seen so many people that are addicted to Tramadol or Ultram and they go thru opiate withdrawal, just like ANY opiate withdrawal.
So, I respectfully disagree with you Boxermommy. I'm not trying to be rude nor start a fight, just adding my two cents in.
It also has a unique quality, it acts as an SNRI in the brain, making it even more addictive.

after, being in a car accident. I was prescribed ultram. I thought it was a real pain pill. After lying down screaming in pain for 3 days with zero relief, I went to another, more well established dr. He told me ultram was a joke. It wasnt a narcotic,It was more like a psychiatric, fake opiate, that they give to drug addicts.. He then gave me hydrocone.. I cant imagine someone wanting ultram..It would be better to take a tylenol,a benadryl, and use a ice pack anyday..
