korzy13My question is, my very disabled, quadriplegic 24 year old daughter was on tylenol 3 for severe dental pain after having 22 teeth pulled. It caused urinary retention. Does anyone know if oxycodone will do the same?
Also they tried her on hydrocodone and she had severe vomiting. Does oxycodone make you sick like hydrocodone? Thank you!

korzy13, most pain meds can cause urinary retention, thats what i was told by my dr and ive read it. also pain meds like oxycodone can cause nausea, and vomiting. most times, especially in the er or hospital, they will give the patient zofran first, its for nausea and vomiting, ask her dr for it. and make sure to tell her dr about her urine problem cause they can give her something, hope this helps

Thank you Leanne, I started her on the oxycodone, luckily she's tolerated it because she can't vomit due to nissen surgery. They wrapped her stomach around her esophagus so she would stop refluxing. My only concern was urinary retention. Now I just pray the massive antibiotics they have her on do the job so we can get her off the pain medication. :)
