When oral contraceptives such as TriNessa are started within 6 days of the start of a period or within 6 days after an abortion it is effective immediately. If the Pill is started at other times, it will be effective after one month.
You can start taking the pill now but you will need to use another method of contraception for 1 month .
If you were to wait until you had your period TriNessa would be effective immediately.
