Toprol-XL - Weakness, taste loss, etc, taking for 1 wk @ 50 MG and feel 100% worse. Any suggestions?

I am looking for information about reactions to the drug. I have atrial fib and am recovering from Bladder cancer removal. Was on drug in hospital and stopped taking it due to weakness and low pressure. Just put on it a week ago again due to short of breath and feel worse. Has anyone experienced this also?

Unfortunately, starting beta blockers (Toprol-XL) is difficult for most patients. Rest assured, you will build a tolerance to these side effects (weakness, low blood pressure).

If the side effects are too bothersome, start at a lower dose (with doctor's permission)
