I started taking topiramate (Topamax) 200mg/daily when I gained 40 pounds while I was on my other meds (200mg sertraline and 300mg lamotrigine daily), and I lost 50 pounds from loss of appetite. My psychiatrist then took me off. I saw her a few months ago and I had gained back 30 pounds. She put me back on topiramate (and off of sertraline and on 40mg/day Viibryd, if relevant). I've heard that Topamax doesn't work once you've been off and go back on, at least for weight loss. Has anyone found this to be true with Topamax, if anyone has been on it twice? I'd rather not be on it if it's doing nothing but hurting my memory.
